LMGW Employees Give To Charity with Firm Matching In Lieu of Holiday Cards

This holiday season, LMGW is continuing the tradition of making charitable donations in lieu of mailing holiday cards. We allow our employees to choose the charitable organizations to make a donation to. LMGW then matches the employee’s donation, up to $50 per person, to each charity. Below are the charities our employees chose to support this year:

Maybeck High School

Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County

Gerson Institute

The Bridge School

Abilities United

Direct Relief

The Cabrillo College Foundation

ChildFund International

David Andrew “Pooh” Maddan Foundation

GreaterGood “Stop the Yulin Dog Meat Festival”

Unity Care Group

George Mason University

The Sankara Eye Foundation USA

If you would like to learn more about any of the organizations listed feel free to ask us about them. Many of the LMGW team are personally involved with the organizations they chose to support and would be happy to share information about the services they provide.

LMGW Continues Its Commitment to Serving our Community with 4th Annual Volunteer Service Day

sacred-heart-volunteer-dayFor the second year in a row, LMGW staff chose to work at Sacred Heart Community Service Center for our annual volunteer day. Sacred Heart makes an incredible impact on individuals and families in our own community who are affected by poverty. Partner, Jennifer Hauck, with the assistance of the LMGW Events Committee and Sacred Heart Staff, organized our team into groups working in the Thrift Shop, helping in the food packing and refrigeration area, and assisting with distribution to service center clients. LMGW staff sorted, packed, and distributed fresh and packaged food, clothing and personal hygiene items to needy families and carried hundreds of pounds of items for disabled and senior citizens.

LMGW staff chose to work with Sacred Heart for our volunteer service day to support Sacred Heart’s mission of helping to build a community free from poverty. In one typical day for Sacred Heart, over 450 families received food and clothing, helping them save money to pay their household bills. The Fourth Annual LMGW Community Volunteer Day was a gratifying event that was appreciated by everyone who participated. We are committed to regularly providing service to less fortunate members of our community.

LMGW Staff Supports our Local Community with 2nd Annual Community Service Day

November 20th, 2014 dawned rainy and cold but that didn’t stop LMGW staff from their commitment to serving those in need in our community. For our second annual LMGW Community Volunteer Day, we chose a local nonprofit organization, The Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council (SASCC). (www.sascc.org)

Once again, our dedicated Senior Accountant Katie Vachon acted as coordinator, working with Partner Michael Bryant and SASCC staff to identify areas of need. Katie rallied LMGW troops into work groups prepared to provide the center and its members with some much needed attention. Read more
