IMPORTANT NOTICE – REQUIRED COMPLIANCE WITH NEW HEALTHCARE LAW

The requirement for employers to offer health insurance to their employees under the Affordable Health Care Act generally does not apply to employers with under 50 employees at this time.  However, ALL COMPANIES WITH AT LEAST $500,000 IN ANNUAL REVENUE AND AT LEAST ONE EMPLOYEE must notify their employees about the new insurance exchanges by October 1, 2013.  New hires after this date must receive notification within 14 days of their starting date.

We recommend our clients who meet the revenue and employee threshold to notify their employees by October 1, 2013.  You may go to the following Department of Labor sites for copies of notification forms.

Employers who offer health insurance to at least one employee: FLSA with Plans

Employers who do not offer a health plan: FLSA without Plans
